The ASEAN Secretariat launched the ASEAN Investment Report 2017: Foreign Direct Investment and Economic Zones in ASEAN and ASEAN at 50 Publication: A Historic Milestone for FDI and MNEs in ASEAN at the ASEAN Business and Investment Summit 2017 on the sidelines of the 31st ASEAN Summit on 13 November in Manila, Philippines.
The ASEAN Investment Report is an annual report analysing investment and related issues in the region This year’s report—featuring economic zones development in ASEAN—examines the roles of different players and the development and contribution of economic zones, including in industrial agglomeration and in enhancing the competitiveness of the investment environment. The report was prepared under a technical cooperation arrangement between the ASEAN Secretariat and he United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD).
The publication ASEAN at 50: A Historic Milestone for FDI and MNEs in ASEAN highlights ASEAN’s 50-year journey to becoming what it is now: a significant hub in MNE’s global production systems and value chain. This report features how the enormous influx of FDI has driven economic growth, industrialisation and development across the region. The report also looks at the future of FDI and MNEs in ASEAN.
Both publications are supported by the Government of Australia through the ASEAN-Australia Development Cooperation Phase II (AADCP II).
