Best Practices for Investment Promotion and Facilitation in ASEAN

ASEAN Member States need to develop strategic FDI policies related to Investment Promotion and Facilitation (IPF) to enhance FDI growth as well as to compete with other emerging economies such as China and India. This project aims to enhance the competitiveness of each ASEAN Member State and ASEAN in attracting investment and other FDI by supporting a study to identify international best practices for effective FDI promotion and facilitation in ASEAN. The study will also provide practical recommendations for implementation at the regional and national levels. Intermediary results and findings will be discussed at a workshop aimed at ASEAN investment policymakers and practitioners. The project will be completed in four months. It will serve as a more practical complement to an analytical study to be undertaken through the Investment Trends & Prospects in ASEAN project.
