At the 25th ASEAN Summit in Nay Pyi Taw in November 2014, ASEAN Leaders tasked the ACCC to undertake a comprehensive review of the implementation of the MPAC and formulate a Post-2015 agenda for ASEAN Connectivity.
The Post-2015 agenda for ASEAN Connectivity will provide ACCC with strategic directions on collaborating with the various related agencies at the regional and national level, as well as other key stakeholders including the private sector. As ASEAN Connectivity comprises of cross-cutting activities involving various ASEAN Sectoral Bodies/Working Group, the Post-2015 agenda will ensure that activities are planned, coordinated and monitored in a systematic manner, to establish a truly-connected ASEAN region in the most effective and efficient manner.
As an outcome of this project, the Master Plan of ASEAN Connectivity (MPAC) 2025 has now been finalised. It has been adopted by the ASEAN Leaders on 6 September 2016 in Vientiane, Lao PDR.
The project also supported the development of project concept notes for the implementation of the MPAC 2025, and helped organise the MPAC 2025 Forum on Initiative and Project Concepts that was held in Alabang, Philippines in July 2017.
