6 October 2016, Jakarta
Representatives from Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Malaysia, Indonesia and Vietnam attended the Regional workshop today in Jakarta, Indonesia, to discuss the refinement of existing toolboxes for Master Trainer and Master Assessor developed in 2015. The refinement is made based on feedback from ASEAN Master Trainers and Assessors to ensure the quality of the competency-based training under the Mutual Recognition Arrangement on Tourism Professional.
The workshop also identifies mechanism of certification of master trainers and master assessor and their roles in the implementation of MRA-TP. A draft guideline for MRA-TP Trainers and Assessors developed by the William Angliss’s experts is also being discussed with the participants. The guideline later on will provide a clearer and more accountable mechanism and procedures to the National Tourism Professional Board (NTPB) and the Tourism Professional Certification Boards (TPCB) -or its national equivalent- in managing the training and certification for national trainers and assessors.
The workshop is held under the coordination of the Ministry of Tourism of Indonesia and the ASEAN Secretariat in the framework of the ASEAN – Australia Development Cooperation Program (phase II)’s support program for supporting the MRA-TP implementation.
